“A chance encounter blossomed into a lifelong love, leading Hadley and Jeff to a picturesque wedding at Seattle’s Center for Urban Horticulture.

After a heartfelt proposal surrounded by close friends, the couple set about personalizing the décor of their nuptials, taking a DIY approach. Even their save-the-date cards had a personal quality, made from Polaroid photos taken by the couple during the wedding planning.

On a crisp September day, they exchanged vows surrounded by the vibrant autumnal hues of the sprawling, lush botanical gardens. The ceremony was intimate, highlighted by the appearance of some special guests: playful bunnies hopping nearby. Hadley’s elegant dress and pearl-studded boots complemented Jeff’s deep blue velvet tuxedo, creating a perfect blend of classic yet contemporary style.

Guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour, which featured dice games and personalized “cattoos” of the couple’s beloved pet, Scully. The reception featured alfresco dining under the trees, with custom cross-stitched table numbers and mini espresso martinis served alongside desserts.

‘I really loved seeing our friends and family sharing moments with their partners over the course of the night. It was so special to witness all of the love in the room with us,’ says the bride.”⁠

For our event last November, we set up this irresistible station right outside our pastry kitchen, where piping hot biscuits were loaded directly onto a speed rack, while our service team stood by with a dollop of sweet cream honey butter, ready to top each biscuit to perfection.⁠

No pastry kitchen on hand? No problem! An oven will do just fine, giving your event that homey, cozy vibe and filling the space with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked biscuits.⁠

We’re excited to carry our Apricot Ginger Whiskey Sour into our holiday menu! 🍒 With delightful winter spice notes and the warmth of bourbon, this classic cocktail is perfectly sippable and pairs beautifully with our Bourbon Pecan Tartlet from the dessert menu. ⁠

Apricot Ginger Whiskey Sour Recipe: ⁠

2oz Bourbon⁠
1oz Ginger Syrup⁠
3/4oz Lemon Juice⁠
1/4oz Apricot Liqueur⁠

Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker, add ice, and shake for 8 to 10 seconds. Strain into a lowball glass filled with ice, and garnish with a cocktail cherry!⁠

In 1986, two young restaurant-industry vets named David started a business based on a simple question: Could a catering company deliver consistently fantastic service and food as good as a fine restaurant?

The answer turned out to be an emphatic yes. Now, nearly three decades, thousands of events, and hundreds of loyal clients later, David Haggerty and David Meckstroth have grown that upstart catering business into DSquared, one of Seattle’s most respected culinary companies.

Catering is still at the heart of DSquared via Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes, the Davids’ original company. The DSquared portfolio also includes the premier events spaces Melrose Market Studios and The Hall at Fauntleroy, as well as two restaurants: Davids & Co., a “nouveau barbecue” café in downtown Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, and the fine-dining venue Muse, the official restaurant of the Seattle Symphony.
