😤MECHADO MADNESS😤

Did you catch our special from x this last weekend?! The inspiration for this Mechado Paella comes from blending Kiki’s Filipino cooking background with Jimmy’s Italian cooking expertise, resulting in a unique fusion presented on a paella.

The dish features tender beef stew slow-braised in tomatoes and soy sauce, rice pockets of creamy, tangy bites—whether citrusy or garlicky—contrast beautifully with the deep, savory flavors, creating a dish that’s rich, savory, and unforgettable.

Keola. Its been tough to find the words to say.

If you didnt know - Derek helped build the bar at Musang. He also played a huge role in helping Musang during Covid and also getting us reopened. He was there during our community kitchen and was the number one fan of 🖤

There was one night in particular, when there was a huge snowstorm - and since he lived on Beacon - he, , and myself worked a whole service just us.

We then proceeded to the ID to meet up with for an unforgettable night. He drove is home in the morning and then cooked community meals with Lo and Jo while I laid on the cot so hungover.

Derek never failed to not show up. He was more than just someone who cared. He was thoughtful and intentional.

He would bring you things that you needed, remembering a conversation or overhearing that something hurt (like pedialyte) or if it was something he knew you would appreciate (caffeine eye patches so your eye bags weren’t so obvious).

Thank you isnt enough. I wish we could have been there more for you, because I know you would have been there for us.

We were the lucky ones to have been a part of your world. 🕊️

Our goal at Musang has always been to create food that is built on our childhood memories, interpreted our way.
