Some kids grow up with dirt under their fingernails from playing outside all day, but you were more likely to find me with flour or sugar under mine. I have been baking for longer than I can remember and can't think of many things I enjoy more. I fell in love with the art of decorating at a young age watching my mom take tiers and tiers of plain cake and turn them into a

masterpiece of fluffy white flowers and design. After college, a few years in public relations and advertising, and hours and hours of evening cake classes, I have started The SweetSide. I feel blessed that you are considering me to be a part of your special day, whatever sort of event it may be. I cannot wait to get to know you and create a cake that will be as pleasing to your eyes as it is to your taste buds.

They may not be the most traditional, but these cakes all had so much meaning to the person that received it! In these cakes, we see reference to someone’s favorite cartoon character of all time, a milestone birthday, an eight year anniversary from being declared cancer free and a husband that wants heard his wife mention that she wanted an armadillo cake while watching steel magnolias the movie… all of these cakes, were ordered by someone who paid attention to the little details and made sure that the moment was celebrated in a special way! Bravo!

The cake slice window is open for the weekend! We have chocolate coconut cream, carrot with cream cheese, classic birthday cake, and strawberries and champagne. Don’t forget we also have scrap boxes, cookies of the day and limited cinnamon rolls! The window is open Thursday and Friday until 5 PM and Saturday until three, or when we are sold out, whatever comes first!

When a good friend of the Bakery lost her dog very unexpectedly this week, it got the staff thinking about all the animals that we’ve loved throughout the years. let’s raise money for the Seattle Humane Society this weekend with our Rocky Road cake by the slice! The slender will be open Thursday and Friday 8 AM to 5PM and Saturday 8 AM to 3 PM.
